Stage 23. Pontremoli to Aulla

  A long stage but with limited ups and downs, along the Valle del Magra, characterised by typical medieval villages abounding in outstanding historical and artistic features. In the first part you zig-zag between the two sides of if the Cisa A-road, which is busy with traffic and at some points has no pavements. After Filattiera it is woodland. A cycle bridge enables you to cross from Filetto to Virgoletta without going back onto the Cisa A-road. Again woodland up to Filattiera and then alond a disued railway tract into Aulla.
