The starting point for this walk was a drop off point immediately in front of the Driftwood Spars Hotel in Trevaunance Cove. The path goes up a small road immediately in front of the Driftwood Spa, and you climb up a steep hill until you reach Little Orchard Village, a group of timber-framed holiday homes. At this point the trail goes off to the right of the holiday homes and is sign posted "Public Footpath to Polberro". You are aiming for the top of the ridge i.e. the stone chimney that can just be seen above the trees.

The path goes alongside MOD property as you head towards Portreath

The MOD fence line prevents the path following the contours of the land, so there are a couple of
places where the path drops down and you have to immediately climb back up the other side

Due to erosion of the cliffs, the path has been diverted along the road in the approach to Portreath
