It wouldn't be a Morgan trip if a car did not break down!

The Corderie Royale

Rochfort dates from the seventeenth century. It was created by Colbert, Louis XIII's navy minister to protect the coast from English raids and remained an important navy base until modern times with its shipyards, sail makers, ropery and hospital. The Corderie Royale was the custom built building 300m long for making ropes from hemp.
