Anglemog Visit to ZERO2 Bus Museum, Great Yeldham

The  Zero2 Bus Museum is a vintage transport collection located at Poole Farm in Great Yeldham. Opened in April 2026 by former bus company owner Peter Newman, it features over 60 restored historic buses and coaches (dating from 1932 to 1988) alongside a remarkable collection of around 10,000 model buses.

1937 Leyland Tiger TS7 - Southdown (Z2-4)

The Leyland Tiger is a heavyweight half-cab single-decker bus and coach chassis built by Leyland Motors between 1927-1942 and 1946-1968. This example dates from 1937.

1940 AEC/Chiswick RT - London Transport RT 8 (Z2-6)

The RT is surely one of the best known types of London bus with a look that is timeless as well as being a design classic. RT's have featured in films such as "Summer Holiday" and James Bond "Live and Let Die" all adding to the familiarity of the type.

1938 AEC/Weyman T - London Transport (Z2-32)

 

1938 Bedford WTB / Duple Vista Coach

25 Seating Capacity - Art Deco interior. Duple had built bodies for the WLB chassis for Vauxhall Motors (the parent company of Bedford). Duple was widely regarded as a coach builder, although the bodies were produced in quite large numbers.

EYE599 was new in 1938 to Underwood of Orsett, Essex. During the war she was used by the RAF for aircrew before going back to Underwood after hostilities ended. She was eventually saved and restored by the Newman family and is kept in running order at Poole Farm depot.

1941 Daimler / Massey (Z2-23)

The Daimler CWA6 was a wartime utility bus chassis manufactured by Daimler between 1944 and 1945, featuring a six-cylinder engine and built to Ministry of Supply regulations to meet bus demand during World War II, using cast iron in place of aluminium to save material for the war effort. Finished in Southend's blue and cream.
