Ta Prohm

Ta Prohm is of a similar design to the later Jayavarman VII temples of Preah Khan and Banteay Kdei. It is a sprawling monastic complex only partially cleared of jungle overgrowth. Intentionally left partially restored, massive fig and silk-cotton trees grow from the towers and corridors offereing a "jungle" atmosphere and some of the best "tree-in-temple" photo opportunities in Angkor. Unfortunately you have to wait a long time for a shot without people in it due to the number of visitors, and even then you cannot escape the ubiquitos wooden viewing platforms which spoil the jungle appearance!
