Gran Canaria

The Practical

Having enjoyed our stay in the Riu Arecas Hotel in Tenerife in October 2017, we decided to stick to the same formula and to go to Gran Canaria with Tui and to stay at a Riu Hotel. There are many Riu hotels in Gran Canaria, and we chose Hotel Riu Palace Maspalomas, which, despite its name is part of Playa del Ingles. It is located near the Maspalomas dunes, and is 2 km from the centre of Playa del Ingles.

The Riu Palace Maspalomas Hotel is effectively divided into two halves by a public thoroughfare or boulevard which runs down to the dunes, with the hotel reception on the right hand side and the dining room on the left. The two parts of the garden are joined by a bridge which goes across the boulevard.

We had a ground floor room that was comfortable and spacious, located just above the Wellness Centre,
which had the advantage of a double sized balcony area.
